COURSE OVERVIEW

The outcome of this Course

One Year Diploma in Story Telling Photography explored different narrative techniques, you will be guided through selecting and developing a compelling concept for your projects. So, Students/Visual artists are not depending on the situation but He/they can create a story as per their visual coherence. After completion of this course, you will learn ways to incorporate your thoughts in the field to do work with professional magazines, research foundations/organizations, news agencies, paid – projects. Apart from this IIP, itself provides internships in digital, print, and fund–based companies. After completion of this intense course, students get a chance to work as a Photojournalist, Photography Researcher, Ethnography Photographer and get Grant Opportunities from academic universities/departments or Government Jobs. Students can work in professional news agencies such as Asia News International, Hindustan Samachar, Indo – Asian News Service, Press Trust of India, United News of India, or International Platform such as AFP, Associated Press, Reuters, United Press International, Magnum Photos, Panos Pictures, VII Photo Agency, and News Magazines such as India Today, Outlook India, Frontline, Forbes, The Week, Organiser, Open Magazine.

The whole program is divided into two categories. Initial Phase of Narrative Photography and Final Phase of Narrative Photography. Which are in the following: -

Initial Phase (Part – 1)

Introduction of Documentary Photography is about basic understanding towards critical studies by reading/observation/discussion. In this part, the Core Documentary of historical reading will be involved in the basics of visual meaning in social life and the co-relation between Visual Art and Society. IIP explored the main characters in the photographer’s work. Art History and Its Aesthetics will be inclined in academic conversation by books, individual artistic deconstruction, and how the field of photography contribution is registered in past and present. We, broadly divided into “Internal”, “Original” and “External” explanations of other photographers’ workflow in the documentary. Basic research behind the image explored by vital events of the photographer’s practice and together they form part of the process of making photographic projects.

Students can carry out their research in many different ways, but essentially, a body of photographic work is developed through knowledge gained in exploring the medium and discussion on visual methodologies and identifies a range of considerations to be made when either creating or responding to a best, including understanding context that informs our decision of aesthetical/technical/presentational approaches. We learn about photography and literature including weekly reading roundtables, ideas generation by writing for writing, to illustrate a story. Students will go through famous theorists and constructive theoretical approaches to become documentary artists and sell or promote their work.

Final Phase (Part – 2)

In Photography Ontological Process, we explore various platforms, mediums such as Zine, Book, Experimental Presentation. Students will see new ways of photography technicalities and their thematic relationship with visual storytelling including effective ways of digital storytelling. We define the value of Black and White, Roll Cameras, Art Movements, and threading of the whole project shape. In this semester, students will meet experts, professional academicians/researchers, and artistic personalities. IIP delivers Art of Interview, Inside Story, Unions & Organizational information, how to use Cross-Media Storytelling, how to write your projects & Conceptual Notes. After going through, creative writing and critical critique, we went to Group or Solo Exhibition opportunities to provide each student including artistic utilization of the exhibition.

The outcome of this Course

This 12 Months rigorous program provides a platform to develop a body of work and a community to share and support the growth. We create a space where students can feel comfortable asking questions, requesting help, and taking risks in their work. While our teaching methods are consistent in their focus, we tailor our approach to the student’s individual needs. In Spirit of Experimentation and play, drawing from research and everyday experience, students will test their theories in practice. We will consider the overarching concepts that inform the work and the techniques that give it shape. Dynamic Themes might include working within and against a field of influence; Documentary, Storytelling, and Conceptual Approaches to Photography and Photography as an Event. Students are expected to consistently make new work to produce a cohesive and original body of photographs and develop a generative practice based on a process of making, thinking, and remaking.

Scope & Placement

Diploma in Narrative Photography prepares students for careers in Print Publications, E-Magazines, Advertising Agencies, Production Houses, TV Channels etc. One can also start one’s own business of Photography Studio, Freelance work for Fashion, Advertising, Commercial & Industrial photography. One can start Travel Photography, Fine Arts, and Experimental Photography and can organize Exhibitions and Shows individually or in a Group.

The classroom learning combined with the experiential exposure by professional photographers/ mentors provide a unique and innovative technical education that develops graduates with a creative style and unique visual problem-solving skills.
