Bachelor in Fine Arts - Applied Arts

4-Year Undergraduate Programme | NEP 2020 Aligned
Applied Arts is the discipline that channels creativity into solving real-world communication, branding, and design challenges. While traditional fine arts centres on personal expression, Applied Arts turns artistic thinking into advertising campaigns, brand identities, packaging systems, digital interfaces, and visual content that shapes how the world sees, understands, and connects with ideas.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The BFA in Applied Arts at IIP Academy, offered under the Faculty of Fine Arts in academic collaboration with Bareilly International University (BIU), is a four-year, studio-intensive degree programme designed for students who want to build careers at the intersection of art, design, technology, and business.

In the first year, students undertake a common foundation programme that builds essential skills in drawing, design, colour studies, visual communication, and creative problem-solving. This multidisciplinary foundation encourages experimentation and develops a strong understanding of visual language before students enter their specialization.

From the second year onwards, students engage with areas such as illustration, typography, advertising design, branding, packaging, photography, digital media, and visual communication. Through studio projects, workshops, critiques, and industry-oriented assignments, students learn to translate ideas into compelling visual narratives while developing technical expertise and conceptual clarity.

In the final year, students undertake self-directed projects and professional portfolio development, preparing them for careers in advertising, branding, publishing, design studios, digital media, entrepreneurship, and related creative industries. The program emphasizes innovation, communication, and design thinking to prepare graduates for the evolving global creative landscape.
