Bachelor in Fine Arts - Applied Arts
COURSE OVERVIEW
The BFA in Applied Arts at IIP Academy, offered under the Faculty of Fine Arts in academic collaboration with Bareilly International University (BIU), is a four-year, studio-intensive degree programme designed for students who want to build careers at the intersection of art, design, technology, and business.
This is not a conventional classroom programme. With only 12 students per batch, every learner receives dedicated mentorship from Prof. Archana Goyal and the faculty team - replicating the atelier tradition of the world's leading design schools.
Drawing & Visual Thinking
Observational drawing, figure study, anatomy, perspective, composition - the foundational skill that separates trained artists from software operators. Runs across all four years.
Professional Practice & Entrepreneurship
Portfolio development, client management, pricing creative work, freelancing, grant writing, studio management, intellectual property - career readiness from Day 1.
Art History & Indian Design Heritage
From Mughal miniatures and Warli art to Bollywood poster art and Indian vernacular signage - a deep cultural grounding that gives you a distinctive voice in the global market.
Typography & Lettering
Letterform anatomy, type classification, typographic hierarchy, grid systems, bilingual type design and kinetic typography.
Illustration
Traditional techniques to digital illustration, character design, editorial illustration, storyboarding and concept art.
Graphic Design
Layout, composition, visual hierarchy, colour in design, poster design, brochures, social media assets and exhibition design.
Advertising & Campaign Design
Creative briefs, headline writing, art direction, copywriting, integrated campaigns across print, digital and experiential media.
Photography & Visual Documentation
Photography fundamentals, product & advertising shoots, visual storytelling - leveraging IIP Academy's world-class photography infrastructure and expertise.
Brand Identity & Packaging
Logo systems, visual identity, brand guidelines, packaging structures, sustainable packaging and shelf impact.
UI/UX Design
User research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping (Figma), interface design and usability testing.
Motion Graphics & Animation
Kinetic typography, animated brand identities, social media video content, 2D animation and After Effects workflows.
AI-Assisted Design & Emerging Tech
Generative imagery, prompt-based design, automated layouts, AR for branding and future-ready creative workflows.
